Q: Are there any side effects?
A: No, there are no side effects from the laser procedure.
Q: Is the laser treatment painful?
A: Most patients feel no pain. Some may feel a warming sensation and very few feel a pinprick.
Q: Why should I choose to have a laser procedure over just taking medicine?
A: Toenail fungus can become resistant to oral anti fungals just as bacteria can become resistant to antibiotics. That’s why the laser treatment is a better choice.
Q: How many toes are done at a time… just a couple or my whole foot?
A: All ten toes are treated.
Q: How long will I need to take off work for recovery?
A: The only time you will need to miss is for the procedure itself. There is no recovery time so you may return to work the same day.
Q: How soon before I see the results?
A: Results begin to show as soon as the nails grow out.
Q: Does this require any sort of anesthesia?
A: No, anesthesia is not needed.
Q: What can I expect in the providers office?
A: A consultation with a board certified podiatrist, the laser treatment to be performed and any follow-up visits as prescribed by your provider.
Q: How long does the procedure take?
A: The laser treatment takes between 30-60 minutes.
Q: How do I pay for the procedure?
A: All major credit cards, cash or money orders are accepted. We also accept Care Credit which is a 0% interest medical credit card. So while in the office you can choose the best form of payment for your budget.
Q: Is this covered by my insurance?
A: Health insurance does not provide coverage. However, it is payable under a Health Savings or Flexible Spending Plan.
